Introducing WhatApp’s Desktop App

WhatsApp has launched another new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere with their desktop app. The new app links with your smartphone so that you can now message from your computer.

Similarly to WhatsApp Web, the web browser version of WhatsApp, the desktop app is another extension of your phone. You can also get set up the same way, by scanning the QR code on your computer screen with your phone to connect both devices.

The desktop app features a few improvements to WhatsApp Web, including a number of keyboard shortcuts, including Ctrl (Command on a Mac) + Shift + M to mute a conversation and Ctrl + Shift + U to change the read status of a message.

In order to for the desktop app to work, your phone must be switched on, close by and connected to the Wi-Fi, your conversations will then be ‘mirrored’ from the mobile app.

WhatsApp’s desktop app is free to download and is available for all software versions after Windows 8 and Mac OS 10.9. To download the desktop app click here: https://www.whatsapp.com/download/
