Making the most of iOS 9 for your business

Maximise productivity

  • Your personal Apple assistant, Siri, features further improvements in iOS 9. Now offering suggestions on people and apps to use based on your location and time of day. More impressively, Siri will even give you a nudge when it’s time to head off for your next meeting – and factor in the current traffic conditions to ensure you arrive on time.
  • Apple ‘Notes’ has also been updated, providing you with the ability to create check-lists and tick off items as you go, with the option to add photos, map locations and even URLS to new and existing notes.

  • Deploy iPads? iOS 9 introduces ‘Split view’ mode that lets you have two active applications on the screen,  allowing you to have Word and Excel open simultaneously, and swap between them seamlessly.
  • Apple has also introduced ‘Transit view’ into iOS 9 Maps, offering you directions that include public transportation.  You can also take advantage of the ‘Multi-modal’ route feature that incorporates public transport, other transport and walking. Finally use ‘Nearby’ that displays Food, Drinks, Shopping, Travel, Services, Fun, Health and Transport located near you, to quickly and conveniently grab a coffee and fill up on petrol before you head to next your next meeting.

Tighten up security & take advantage of enhanced MDM capabilities

  • With iOS 9, passcodes can now be 6 digits long instead of four, giving you one million possible combinations rather than 10,000, ensuring your business devices are tougher to crack, and thus reducing the chances of anyone gaining unauthorised access.
  • iOS 9 gives your IT team more ways to control your business devices, apps and data. With prompts to perform an update, the ability to install and update managed apps while restricting general access to the App Store and new network policies; restricting the app’s ability to connect over cellular when roaming on other networks – allowing your organisation to specify how your managed apps use your network.
